PHYSICAL - WATCH BOARD
- Just after 1015 local time on 9 Sep., a vehicle borne improvised
explosive device driven by a suicide bomber detonated 14 ft. away from
the gate of the Australian Embassy in the Central Business District
of
Jakarta, Indonesia. The Greek Embassy, located on the 12th floor of
an
adjacent building was gutted. At least nine people were killed and at
least 161 injured. Jemaah Islamiyah claimed responsibility on the same
day in a written statement.
- On 1 Sep., an explosive device detonated.in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
- At 0700 local time on 1 Sep., an explosive device detonated on a
mini
bus when a man threw the device at it in Wangcheng, a suburban county
of Changsha in China. At least three passengers were killed.
- At 2007 local time on 31 Aug., a suicide bomber detonated herself
in
a car near the Rizhskaya metro station in Moscow, Russia. The device
contained bolts and other metal items. Eight people were killed and

injured.
- At 1130 local time on 31 Aug., an explosive device detonated in a
shop in Qalat district of Baluchistan, Pakistan. Three people were
killed and several injured.
- On 31 Aug., two explosive devices detonated on two buses in Beersheba
near the Beersheba municipality building in Israel. At least 80 people
were killed.
- On 30 Aug., an explosive device planted by Kurdistan Workers'
Party/People's Congress of Kurdistan (PKK/Kongra-Gel) rebels detonated
as a military vehicle was passing by in Turkey. Fifteen soldiers were
injured.
- On 30 Aug., a US military vehicle hit an improvised explosive device
in Khutayiah, Iraq. Staff Sgt. Aaron N. Holleyman, 26, from the Army's
1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group was killed.
- On 30 Aug., an explosive device sent in the mail detonated in Lower
Bavaria, Germany. It was addressed to Regen District Council Chairman
Heinz Woelfl. A woman was slightly injured.
- On 29 Aug., an explosive device detonated on a railway track in
Bingol's Ggenc district in Turkey. Five railway cars were derailed.
The
engine driver was injured.
- On 29 Aug., an explosive device detonated while a man tried to
smuggle it into polling station number 360 in Grozny's Zavodskoy
district in Chechnya. The man was killed.
- On 28 Aug., an explosive device planted by the Kurdistan Workers'
Party/People's Congress of Kurdistan (PKK/Kongra-Gel) detonated when
two vehicles ran over it in Pervari town of Siirt province, Turkey.
Two
people were injured.
- On 27 Aug., a US military vehicle hit an improvised explosive device
in Fallujah, Iraq. Pfc. Luis A. Perez, 19, from the Army Reserve's
223rd Transportation Company was killed.
- On 27 Aug., an explosive device planted by Kurdistan Workers' Party

People's Congress of Kurdistan (PKK/Kongra-Gel) rebels detonated on
a
road near Koprucu village in Pervari town of Eastern province of Siirt,
Turkey. Two people were killed and five injured.
- At around 2055 local time on 27 Aug., a gas canister detonated in
a
café near the town police station in the district center of Khasavyurt,
Dagestan. Two people were killed.
- On 27 Aug., an explosive device detonated at the entrance to the
house No. 58 on Ulitsa Zamshina Street in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Larisa Artyukhovskaya, deputy head of the city's drug and alcohol abuse
clinic's medical center, was killed.
