WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court were briefly evacuated on Wednesday when a small plane that was likely carrying an official to Washington for former President Ronald Reagan funeral violated restricted airspace, law enforcement officials said.

Authorities quickly declared the incident a false alarm, spokesmen for the Capitol police and the court said.

The incident occurred as people gathered near the Capitol to await the arrival of Reagan's body for a state funeral
