WATCH BOARD Vol. 04, No. 19 - 8 June 2004

"Islamic Extremist Ops/Training DVD Vol. 1 v1.0" IntelCenter has
released a nearly 2-hour DVD featuring operational and training footage
from al-Qaeda, Ansar al-Islam and the Chechen Rebels. The DVD contains
video of a successful SAM attack on a helicopter, the capture of a tv
studio, roadside bombings, ambushes, shooting drills, a hostage-taking
exercise and much more. The footage is provided in the same raw format
as it was distributed by the extremist groups in order to allow the
greatest training value. There has been no editing beyond what was
necessary to isolate the relevant portions and enhance their quality as

- al-Qaeda threat regarding the Arabian Peninsula: "All compounds,
bases and means of transport, especially Western and American airlines,
will be direct target for our coming operations in near future."

- High threat of attacks in Saudi Arabia targeting Western interests,
especially oil facilities/personnel

- Shootings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia targeting Westerners: German,
British and American nationals hit in past few weeks

- Security forces on alert following statement by PKK/KONGRA-GEL that
it has ended the ceasefire effective 1 June & that it would start
attacks throughout Turkey

- Threat by Riyadh as-Salihiin Emir Shamil Basayev for additional
attacks following the assassination of Chechen President Akhmat Kadyrov

- Osama bin Laden: "In al-Qaeda, we are committed to a reward of 10,000
grams of gold for whoever kills the occupier, Bremer, his deputy, the
American Forces leader, or his deputy in Iraq. As for the United
Nations... whoever kills Kofi Annan, or his envoy to Iraq, or his
representative like al-Akhdar al-Ibrahimi, he will receive 10,000 grams
of gold. A reward of 1,000 grams of gold for killing any military or
civilian individual from the Veto countries like the Americans or the
British. A reward of 500 grams of gold for killing military or civilian
individuals from the slaves of the General Assembly in Iraq like the
Japanese and the Italians."

- US State Dept: "...continues to receive information that there may be
future bombings in the Philippines, including against airports,
commercial shipping, passenger vessels and seaports in Mindanao and in
other areas."

LATEST BOMBINGS SUMMARY (from the "Latest Bombings" section on

- On the evening of 31 May, an explosive device detonated in the Shiite
Imam Bargah Ali Raza mosque in Karachi, Pakistan. At least 16 people
were killed and at least 38 injured.

- On 26 May, two explosive devices detonated near the Pak-American
Cultural Center in Karachi, Pakistan. The first blast injured two
people. The second blast was larger and detonated 25 minutes after the
first. Two police officers were injured in the second blast.

- On 25 May, an improvised explosive device detonated near a US
military patrol in Fallujah, Iraq. Pfc. Richard H. Rosas, 21, and Pfc.
James P. Lambert, 23, both from the 3rd Battalion, 62nd Air Defense
Artillery, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) were killed.

- On 24 May, an explosion occurred near the entrance to the Green Zone
in Baghdad, Iraq. An armored civilian car was destroyed and four
people, including two British civilians, were killed. It was reported
that there were multiple cars involved in the attack, including several
people who began shooting after the explosion.

- On 23 May, an explosive device was detonated on a bus along the
Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Kashmir. Twenty-five security
personnel were killed and 10 injured.

- On 22 May, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the Beqaot
roadblock in the northern part of the Jordan Valley in Israel. An
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier was injured.

- On 22 May, an explosive device detonated as a UAZ jeep carrying
combined police detachment personnel from the Tver regional Internal
Affairs Inspectorate was passing the Katyr-Yurt settlement in
Achkhoy-Martanovskiy district in Chechnya. One police officer was
killed and five injured.
