Democrat and Chronicle, State College [PA] Centre Daily Times "A jocular President Bush brought a Patriot Act roadshow [to Buffalo] Tuesday morning, treating about 600 invited guests to a detailed and localized defense of the controversial anti-terrorism law," according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. "The event, in Buffalo's Kleinhans Music Hall, marked the third time in four days that Bush has spoken out in favor of the act, which gave the government new powers to investigate and prosecute suspected terrorists." Also on Tuesday, Larry Frankel, legislative director for the Pennsylvania American Civil Liberties Union, "encouraged the Central Pennsylvania chapter [of the ACLU] to be vigilant about their civil liberties," reports the Centre Daily Times. |
